Living systems are not about control, but have a focus on flexible infrastructure. They are not about plans, but are understanding of dynamics and flow.  If we compare an organisation to a human body, a self-organising organism where the strengths comes from our muscles whose are flexible and agile (not rigid and controlled), a heart pumping oxygen through the body, the organs who form equal but diverse partners who work interdependently and collaboratively in achieving a healthy...

Whose outcomes are we measuring? Or rather from whose perspective? When working with outcomes it is important to be clear about about the perspective you are inviting. A 'quality of life' or 'living healthier' outcome means different things to different people, but does that matter when trying to measure it? When talking about peer-to-peer support I have visions of people living with dementia or carers who all have the same or similar challenges sitting in a room together trying to resolve the challenges they are facing. In other scenarios we would be talking about 'groupthink' but 'group paralysis' may be a more accurate description of the potential created by the lack of diversity in this approach to self-help and self-care. When we identify needs, it is not uncommon to see the health system as the 'rescuer' of the needs found in society. This may be a necessary view for the acute side of health and care provision, but when wishing to be more proactive in preventing future health needs it may be more helpful to tap into people's motivations, behaviours and outcomes....
